Pequeños pero Listos

Due to the pandemic, the Guatemala government has given instructions on how schools, colleges, and institutions will work during this year. Colors are being used to mark the places with more contagions, like a traffic light. For example, if a community is red, children cannot attend classes yet. But if it is green, it is possible to give classes in small groups and only on certain days of the week. That is why we are working differently in each of the communities where our schools are located.

Some teachers are giving face-to-face classes in small groups three times a week, others are making home visits every 15 days to leave homework and reinforce topics.  In addition, others are working with labor guides because there are still risks of contagion in the community.

It has been a little difficult to do it this way, but we are willing to do everything we can to help our kids move forward together. Although some of us continue to work from home, the children are making much better progress than last year.
